Terms of Service

1. What Restful is

Restful (“Restful”, “we”, “us”) provides a personal cloud machine — a Linux VPS preloaded with Claude Code — accessible through a browser terminal at your-name.restful.host. These Terms govern your use of restful.host and the service.

2. Eligibility & account

You must be at least 18 years old to use Restful. You're responsible for keeping your sign-in email and machine credentials secure. You can have one machine at a time during the beta.

3. Subscription & billing

Restful is offered as a monthly subscription. Beta pricing is $39/month per machine, locked in for as long as you keep your subscription active. After the beta wraps, the full price is $59/month per machine; existing beta subscribers keep their $39 rate for the duration of their continuous subscription. Payment is processed by Stripe. Subscriptions auto-renew until cancelled. You can cancel anytime from the Stripe customer portal or by contacting us.

4. Refunds

Subscription fees are non-refundable. If you cancel mid-month, your machine stays available until the end of the billing period. We may offer pro-rated refunds at our discretion for service interruptions caused by us.

5. What you can do with your machine

Your machine is yours to use within the limits of the law. You may not use Restful to:

• Run anything illegal in your jurisdiction or ours (Washington, USA).
• Send spam, run phishing sites, distribute malware, or host CSAM.
• Run cryptocurrency miners, large-scale scrapers, or anything that abuses shared upstream services (DigitalOcean's acceptable use policy applies).
• Attack other systems or networks.

We may suspend or terminate machines that violate these limits. Significant violations can result in account termination without refund.

6. Your content & data

Anything you (or Claude on your behalf) creates on your machine — code, databases, files — belongs to you. We don't claim ownership and we don't read your files or databases. We don't snapshot or back up your machine; treat it as ephemeral and push anything important to a service you control (GitHub, S3, etc.).

If you delete your machine from the dashboard, everything on it is irreversibly gone. That's by design.

7. AI usage

Claude Code runs locally on your machine and you authenticate it with your own Anthropic account. We don't proxy, mark up, or have access to your Claude conversations or API usage. Your relationship with Anthropic is governed by their terms.

8. Availability

We aim for high availability but make no SLA during the beta. We may pause new signups, restart machines for maintenance, or roll out updates. We'll give reasonable notice for anything disruptive.

9. Termination

You can cancel anytime. We can terminate your account for material breach of these terms (the §5 limits, non-payment after dunning, fraud). On termination, your machine and data are destroyed within 30 days.

10. Disclaimer & liability

Restful is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. We're not liable for lost data, lost profits, or indirect damages.

11. Changes

We may update these terms; significant changes will be emailed to your account email with at least 14 days' notice. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Washington, USA, without regard to conflict of laws principles.
